Sophisticated welcoming drinks – they will love it!

I’ve learnt this one from an Italian friend of mine who lives in Germany. She is very enthusiastic and knows very well how to make people feel good in her house… starting with this delicious welcoming drink!

The drink is a really good start for any gathering. It’s just to kill peoples’s thirst. But there is a lot of pleasure in this ‘just’!

It’s ‘just’ an elegant glass with a cold and transparent liquid, filled with succulent fruits. Yes, it’s ‘just’ a fresh flavored water. And this is exactly the situation when you think, it’s so simple and yet so rewarding!

When I tried that, I immediately asked her for the recipe and afterwards I made the drink for my family in my birthday party. It was a total success!

The secret is the syrup. Many people may have heard of it, but for me it was a surprise. It’s a syrup made of this tiny white flower called elder.

Then there are the fruits, which give this incredible scent to the drink and the juicy pleasure of biting in the end… but let’s go to the recipe: 😉

You will need:

  • Elderflower syrup.

I’ve used this one from this Austrian company called Darbo, but there are many brands available for a variety of prices.

  • Peaches
  • Blueberries
  • Ice
  • Sparkling water

Put a dash of syrup in each glass – I poured roughly 2 or 3 centimeters high, than add the sparkling water, then the fruits. Washed blueberries and washed and sliced peaches with the pealing on it. And finally the rocks of ice.

Here is how my drinks looked like:

I know the picture could be better, sorry for that, but the taste was great, trust me! The perfect balance between scent and sweetness and texture and temperature… Everyone loved it!

You can also try out other fruits and scents, like strawberries, melons, lemons, mint and ginger and make it look like this one. Let us know if you do!

All the best,
